Pairing at a distance 

To play this game, you will need to take one of each pair of the material set it out in an appropriate place.  Do the same with the other half but at a distance from each other. Sit with the children by one set of the pairs and show the child a piece of the material.

Invite the child to find the pair and bing it back, leaving the material with you and the other children. Repeat with each child in turn until all pairs have been matched.

Grading at a distance

Set out the whole set of materials in an appropriate place, then pick up one extreme and bring it to the other prepared area along with the children.

Sit down and invite one child to go and find the next gradation and bring it back.

Repeat with each child in turn until all pieces have been graded. If the child would like to play again mix up the pieces and repeat the game.

Bring one  ......er 

 Set out the whole set of materials in an appropriate place, then pick up one piece of the material and bring it along with the children to the other prepared area.

Sit down and invite one child to go and find a piece that is  ____er than the first piece chosen.

Continue to ask the children in rotation to bring you one piece but a random change between asking for one _______er or one ______er.
