Meet Joanne Kaya
Hi, I’m Joanne!
I’ve always been involved in child education. After working for many years in early childhood education, I noticed there was a ‘missing piece’ to the puzzle of supporting a child’s learning journey, and I was on a mission to find out what that was. Whilst living in Japan, I walked into a Montessori classroom for the first time. That was my ‘hallelujah’ moment.
The methodology behind the Montessori system just made sense to me, and, more importantly, it made sense to the children it was benefitting. The Montessori philosophy is all about fostering a child’s independence and allowing them to learn and explore based on their own curiosities. This teaching style works in conjunction with a child’s natural development, unlike traditional schooling which takes a more ‘cookie cutter’ approach.
I hold an AMI (Association Montessori International) certificate for 0-3 years, 3-6 years and 6-12 years. With over 20 years experience with Montessori, I am passionate about helping parents implement Montessori philosophy methods which will help their child not just develop academically but also explore their passions.
After studying the Montessori system in India, I travelled the world, working in many Montessori classrooms, each with a unique experience. My most exciting project thus far was working in a Russian Montessori school where I created new programs and supported the children in their learning journeys. Through my in-classroom experiences, I was invigorated with a passion for Montessori philosophy.
Becoming a mother myself, I began to implement Montessori teachings in my own home. To my surprise, although I had a wealth of experience in the field, it still wasn’t easy. I saw, first-hand, the challenges that parents and children face when beginning their Montessori journey. This sparked an idea, and I began creating resources and coaching tools for Montessori parents and teachers. Today, I’ve helped thousands of parents and teachers in understanding the Montessori philosophy and ultimately helping their children to learn.
